Greetings. I am a graduate student in the doctoral program within the Atmospheric and Oceanic Science Department
at the University of Colorado at Boulder. Our group works out of the
CIRES building on the CU Boulder campus. My current research focuses on
refining our understanding of the global hydrological cycle by using stable water isotopes and trajectory models. The nearly global
data set of deuterium to H2O ratios from the Tropospheric Emission Spectrometer are
used in my models to estimate such quantities as water residence times, rainfall recycling rates, and convective detrainment rates. The
overarching goal of my thesis research is to deduce the effects of land-based evaporation on the overlying relative humidity across many
regions.
